Is freebiejeebies gadgets legitimate?

Obviously, it sounds a little too good to be true, giving away free items, but from what I've read I can see where they make their money. If someone who uses this site could let me know if this site is for real let me know. Also, I think I understand how the reference part works, but can someone explain to me the free trial aspect and signing up for things aspect of signing up for the website? I didn't quite understand that from my readings.
