I have just noticed two days into my new billing cycle that Google maps is using a crapload of my data from my plan. I haven't turned on GPS or even used google maps, but my 3D watchdog app is showing that it's used 3MB just from midnight to the time I woke up! Never had this problem with the last update.
I live in Canada and do have a cap on how much data I can use. I know that the phone is going to transmit data for updates on a variety of programs. Just that my data monitoring app predicted I would use over 100% of my daily data usage. Normally if I don't use many apps it sits at 10%. Plus I have never seen google maps at the top of the list for data usage unless I've actually used it a bit.
