is ground beef red meat? is ground beef healthy to eat if you play alot of basketball and run alot? and if not can you tell me some food that are.
 
look at the package and it will give you a percentage lean. The higher the number, the less fat. You would want to go for the highest, though this is normally the most expensive so try what works for you... Make sure you drink lots of fluids too.
 
Ground beef can be anything. There are portions that are the scraps of the factory floor and there are portions made from the leanest cuts of a cow.
Example- 20/80 means 20% fat, 80% whatever else(carbs, etc)
Try to buy the leanest portions, usually like 10/90.
Ground beef is good to build muscle and has essential aminos acids to support healthy brain and body functions.
As long as you keep food portions regular, meaning a peice of meat no larger than the palm of your hand for every meal, you should be good and healthy.
Meat is a good thing.
