met a girl and shes cool but she laughs at different things than i do. Im never serious and she more is. Will we start to find a humor balance with each other or am i wasting my time?

You will just grow on eachother. If you dont after a couple of weeks or so, then if having a sense of humor is important, then I would probably start over....
