Is he interested or am I just overthinking?

I just recently met my neighbor who lives right above me and he's cute! and really nice

1) He asked me how i was doing.
2) He said sorry for making so much nosie upstairs while smiling and facing me all the way down the stairs.
3) I was walking fast (I was in a rush to get to school) and he started walking fast alongside me.
4) He opened the gate for me when I was going toward it.. he kinda jumped in front of me to get the door.
5) He then said by the way, and introduced himself to me.. Then I paused and introduced myself while he was staying inside the gate like inches away from me
6) Then he said "You have a good day." I said you too!

Don't make a mountain out of a molehill. He is being polite, but I feel he is definitely implying he would like to at least know you and to possibly develop a friendship, first. Since he is your neighbor, it is courteous of him to introduce himself and to start a casual conversation. Just keep it up and see what happens. It's OK to start developing a dialogue with him and he with you. But don't rush it. Just take things as it comes. So far it seems like a good match. Let us know what happens, but as of now, take it slow and easy. Don't pressure yourself with a deadline.
