and join professional boxing? Anderson Silva said that the last time he is going to fight is around July and that the reason he is going to retire is because he doesn't find MMA challenging. If you remember clearly, last year Anderson was talking about boxing Roy Jones but Dana White said NO. And Anderson just got Freddie Roach as his new boxing couch. Is Anderson Silva preparing for a future professional boxing match?

I think Dana White has to make some decisions sometimes because he has to. I am sure there were huge factors to consider in sanctioning such a match that could affect the UFC if Silva had lost and compromise the agreements that the UFC has with all its fighters. You could hardly let one fighter and not any of the others do a similar thing and the legal fights it would cause would certainly be an issue. You can bet some fighters would be fighting and taking matches in the other organizations that are out there. At the same time Silva strikes me as a very smart and shrewd individual that sees the money he is making now and what a pay-off it would be if he jumped to boxing and after a few fights got a fight with Jones or some other boxer of note and reputation. That and the challenge to see if he can pull it off is probably more than he can resist. A fighter and athlete like him gets bored sometimes and looks for things that will push him to that next level or that next mountain to climb rather than just sit around on his butt and doing what he has been doing for the last several years. I am just glad he did not decide on badminton and will enjoy watching him fight in either I think.
