Is it "insincere" to want to become a Jew but imply that there might be...

...some tension within Judaism? I asked a question about if Orthodox Judaism had a negative view of Reform Judaism (which doesn't even imply tension, actually, it asks IF there is tension) and then it was implied that I was "insincere" about Judaism. How does this make sense? Is Judaism all about looking at everything through rose coloured glasses, and never, even for a moment, being allowed to even INQUIRE about a possible negative aspect of Judaism?

Doesn't a sincere search for spirituality in life require an honesty, and an actual weighing of the good and the bad of the choices before you? I am getting really sick of every single thing I ask being twisted by certain people, who are proving themselves to be, from what I've learned, very un-Jewish, in their complete willingness to judge their fellow man, and hold spiteful feelings. I admit to not being as knowledgeable about Judaism as many people, but I do know that Hillel said that you shouldn't Judge your fellow until you are in his place, and if you think you even know what my place is by reading my context-less posts on the internet, you are mistaken.

I've been reading your questions and their hostile responses, and it does seem that way.

I saw that question to Orthodox Jews. The answers were lovely. As a Reform Jew, I found them very well said & easy to understand. I didn't see anyone rant at you. If someone did later on - it was in the minority.
Here's the question

You just asked to be forgiven for offending the Jews here. Now you're at it again. Making oddball claims that put down the Jews here - while being dishonest about the answers you got from them.

It appears you were disappointed that Jews manage to get along & your answer didn't get the ranting at each other you expected. Sigh.

This is Yahoo Answers R&S. Ranting is everywhere - stop trying to bash whole groups of people if a few people offend you.

I don't know about Jews, but if they are like Catholics it is preferred that dirty laundry be aired in more exclusive forums, perhaps restricted to Catholics.

An outsider stirring up trouble among Catholics is a scoundrel and a snake.

wow. I am very sorry to hear that. I wonder how many Jewish people are on this site. I am curious about the Jewish religion also. I wonder if there are better forums that you could ask this on. Like a Jewish forum.

The Conservative part of every religion considers the Liberal element of the religion to not "really" be that religion. It's not just Judaism but almost all religions.

I need to point out to you, however, he is not "Hillel", but Rabbi Hillel. You and he are not buddies from high school.

answer: your repeated troll questions discredit your motives, especially since you can't go a day without lecturing atheists and have shown repeatedly you aren't studying Judaism, probably don't have a rabbi and synagogue and many have seen very few sincere questions from you yet.

Implying that Reform Jews are the same as "messianics" to Orthodox Jews was not a sincere quest for knowledge.

Attempting to quote Hillel doesn't strengthen your complaint. All you've shown is trollish behavior, obsession with money/Judaism (which borders on stereotyping on your part) and "fear" of being harassed for being Jewish and you've shown an incredible lack of Jewish learning even after months.

I will continue to answer sincere questions. I will also speak out against ridiculous "questions" of yours that seek to undermine Judaism - THAT is very Jewish of me. Perhaps it's time for you to actually start learning about Judaism and Jews.
