It's all about the bottom line. I don't think they care which side their media represents, as long as it produces a heavy, profitable revenue. If FOX made more money representing the liberal point of view, you can bet that Murdoch wouldn't mind one bit...
 
Most of the network news is engineered to control or manipulate populations. So your question makes perfect sense.
