Is it just me or have our celebs/comedians become more unpleasant?

I'm talking British celebs/comedians. I notice that I used to like many, be it a Ronnie Barker, or a Steve Coogan, a Caroline Aherne, Even a Lenny Henry who I don't find funny but is a decent man

But this current breed, Simon Pegg, Jon Ross, Russell Brand, Ricky Gervais seem pretty nasty.
Maybe we are championing arrogance over warmth these days.
