Is it just me or is the Sirius/XM satellite radio merger a bunch of Baloney? ?

I have long desired satellite radio but I knew the 2 giants were in talks of merging as well as battling anti-trust laws, and I wanted to wait for that dust to settle before investing.

Finally they merge, so I go to check out pricing, and what I discover is that it's not really a merge per se; it's not all the channels of both as I had hoped.

What it seems to be is XM radio as it always was, but for EXTRA $$$ you can buy the "best of Sirius", which includes all of like 5 dinky channels, 4/5 of which are useless to me.

Has anyone purchased the full package? Is it worth it? Am I missing something?

Well Nick, as a Sirius subscriber for the last few years I can say that not much has changed for us Sirius listeners, the 80's channel now has all the original VJ's from MTV which is good, but we did loose a couple of channels, but they were replaced with some XM ones. As to all the channels for both, to be honest most of the channels on XM and Sirius were duplicates anyway, at least they played the same music, now if you want Oprah and Howard you are going to have to bite the bullet and purchase these channels from the A La Carte line up available.
