Is it okay to chose a celebrity you would like to look like when trying to...

...lose weight? I am trying to lose weight and i was wondering is it okay to pick a celebrity that is your height and body type when you want to lose weight? and maybe one who has gone through a weight loss? like you know as a role model?
i wanna lose about 40 lbs. but i plan on taking it like 5lbs or so at a time. i know it wont come off fast. my goal is more like one big goal (which is to get healthy and stay healthy) with other goals in it. like i want to lose weight and keep it off and i also want to be able to wear a bikini this summer

The only thing you need to keep in mind about that is bodies differ, even within the same body type. So if you lose weight you still might not look like that person. not to mention they have people looking out for their figures 24/7 pretty much, totally something that the normal person does not have. If i had a gym in my house, and trainer on call, someone to cook for me, someone to give me all the latest "treatments"....i bet i would look DAMN good!

Maybe you you think about doing this. How much weight do you want to lose? What size do you want to be? Go to the store an buy a pair of jeans or a dress in that size. That way your goal is all about you and nothing but you. You are doing this to better yourself, not look or be like someone else..i mean no matter how man leg lifts i do i am never going to have a j-lo butt. I just think that when you try to look like someone else you are setting yourself up for failure, because no two bodies are going to react the same way to losing weight.

Good Luck!

Yes and no. as long as you realize that MANY celebrity photos are airbrushed and photo-shopped, yes. If it motivates you work out and eat right, then it's great. I use a picture of Rhianna (I don't even like her, but she looks good) to remind me to work out. But if you think you are going to look just like her, then no. Like I said celebrity photos are airbrushed and unrealistic. Good luck!

If you want to reach a goal, the best you can do is to look for an image of what you desire. In this case, it totally applies that you set a role model, it has a great effect on your way to success.
