I heard it is not good to give a dog table food. But it is hard not to give my dog the remaining food on my plate. Isn't it kinda mean to throw away that piece of steak on my plate, when I could give it to my Pug or Bichon? I can't see not giving them left overs. Do you agree?

If you really love your dog and you want him to be healthy, the best thing to do is to NEVER give him table food! The reason for this is because once they taste the good meat and table food, they will always beg at the table and they will not want to eat the dog food (unless it was really starving and it was a last resort). Dog food is nutritious and has all the right vitamins. Dog's digestive systems are not the same as humans and table food could cause indigestion, diarrhea and heart worms. Also dog's teeth rot easily because they don't brush their teeth and dog food has a way of keeping them clean where table food tend to rot their teeth. So if you don't want an unhealthy dog and a dog that BEGS at the table, then don't start feeding him table food. I know it is very tempting to give him a real good treat, but it's poison to their digestive system. You'll be doing him a favor if you just gave him dog food and dog treats!!!
