Is it possible to import a classic fiat 500 from Italy to the united states?

I am an American living in Italy for the next few years and Plan on buying a 1960s fiat 500 and bringing it back to the states with me. Is this legal and possible?

It's not going to be easy. It's not street legal in America. Wish it was, I wouldn't mind having one either.
