With an HD-DVD/Blu-Ray drive, a lot of storage space, and a ripping software (I have Xilisoft), could you rip an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray in 1080p resolution?
If Xilisoft wouldn't support them, I heard about this SlySoft Software that can rip HD Disks, but it's kind of expensive. http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvdhd.html
If you can rip it in 1080p, could you export it to Apple TV and play it in 1080p? I know most of Apple's HD files are in 720p.
I also heard that ripping hi-def DVDs can make them unplayable, something about Fair Play? Let me know if this is legal too, because I know you can rip CDs and DVDs.
If anyone knows something about this or have personally done it, please help. Thanks.
