Is it possible to teach yourself how to code iPhone/iPad apps?

I've just graduated from uni and the job hunting has begun but I'm not having much success. I am really interested in developing and creating iOs apps. Do you think it is possible that I could teach myself? I haven't done any coding since 2nd year which was 3 years ago.

Yes.

I've seen books on that very topic at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, where I go to enjoy a Starbucks high-calorie Caramel Frappaccino, GNU/Linux magazines, 2600 quarterly magazine (a magazine I actually buy), and looking over various books on the shelves.
