As a shade tree mechanic I have found Saab and Volvo parts to be some of the most expensive when compared to the cost of the vehicle. Most Japanese parts have come down considerably since I started doing this about 40 years ago. I remember having to pay $450 for a little piece of junk Toyota started in 1971. Sorry, off topic. Yes I think your statement is a fair assessment of Saab parts in general. Now I am discussing dealer items. If you can get it a Kragens or Napa it will probably be priced competitively with most other vehicles.
