Is it really worth tanning before going on a tropical vacation?

I'm going to Mexico soon and people keep telling me to get in at least 5 tanning sessions before I go. Does it make that much of a difference? What if I just wear a light sunblock when I'm down there?

First of all let me tell you that you are soo lucky . Not b/c it's Mexico but cause you are going somewhere tropical .
OK back to the answer .
You and every one else is going to be wearing sunglasses and they will not be blinded by all bright skin : ) and you will drinking .
Make sure to wear some sun block .
Have fun and be safe .
