I have heard people say they pray to their jesus on the cross or to the portrait of Jesus. Doesn't this go against the ten commandments?: Thou shalt not make yourselves graven images in the likeness of heaven or earth" lot of christians believe these images power. What do you think?
Is it sinful to have graven images of christ in your house?

Art work to enjoy is one thing,treating it as a god by worshiping it or praying to it is definitely a violation of the Ten Commandments.
It does go against the Ten Commandment. We are to pray to no thing but to an actually living person.
