No. This is not true. It has a younger population than some European countries, but not when compared to rapidly growing countries such as in Central America or Africa. Ireland has about 21% of their population 14 and under, which rapidly growing countries typically have 40% or more of their population in this age category. For example, Benin has 44.7%, Nicaragua 31.7%, Mali 47.3%, Zimbabwe 41%. Also, Ireland has a lot of folks over 65: over 11%. Poor, rapidly growing countries typically have well under 5% over 65.
