When he goes outside to pee, that is when he is old enough to make babies with a Female? I have a 6 month old Yorkie and my neighbor has a 2 year old Female dog. She refuses to get her dog spayed. I have an apt to get my dog neutered but it isn't for another month. Where we take him for vet visits is booked for awhile so that is why the long wait. Anyhow I read about the 'Hike' lifting thing and wanted to know if this is true. B/C he started doing this a week ago and now I don't want him outside at all. She always leaves her female in the back yard and her fence is crappy and the female gets out all the time. I have a fence but noticed that there are a couple holes dug around it. I think he is trying to get under it to her. Is he still too young to get a female pregnant? And is okay to be outside for an hour or so playing? Or should I just keep him indoors until I am able to take him on a leash? He has the hereditary thing where he only has one testicle that is dropped. he has to be neutered asap, b/c the highness risk of cancer is in dogs that have this disorder. That is why i am getting him neutered so young.
He is humping everything! He tried to hump my Husbands leg and his "thing" came all the way out! My Husband was trying to fling him off his leg! LOL! He is showing A LOT of signs of sexual behavior! I kinda thought too, that since he only has 1 testicle that is dropped if he could even get a female pregnant. Maybe I am wrong, I just don't want to run any chances!
He is inside now. I don't let him out like I did. Just in case she is out and escaped her yard again. I tried talking to the neighbor about getting her dog spayed and she said she wants to breed her and sell the puppies. great a neighbor that is probably going to have all these puppies and dogs everywhere.

Good for you. If he impregnated a female there is a good possibility any males in the litter would carry this fault of his.
Keep your eye on him until he is neutered.

a dog is never too young to get a female pregnant.. and when he gets a little older, he'll stop humping everything..just from time to time... he's just discovering it right now!

he is definitely old enough but this h9umping everything is often more a dominance thing that he needs to be shown who the boss is
a dog can actually be mature enough at 4-5 months old
even though he only has one testicle he can still produce pups
you need to worry about getting your yard dog proofed for him even after he is fixed

Not necessarily. My pup started that when he was 4 months old, but he wasn't showing any other signs of sexual maturity. He could potentially get her pregnant, but he shouldn't as the puppies would be ill.

Just keep an eye on your dog and don't let him out unsupervised, at least until he's neutered. And bravo for not wanting your dog to have offspring!

if a puppy is 6 months of age he/she is old enough to start having puppies.

a 6 month male can very easily impregnate a female. The hike thing is a myth. Some males do it and some dont. Its the age you need to worry about. He only needs one Teste to function. His humping may just be dominance but I would not let him out alone anymore.

A male lifting his leg isn't even close to being a reliable indicator that he's able to breed. But at 6 months old, your puppy is. So if the fence doesn't get fixed - which it should be for his safety if nothing else - keep an eye on him.

He's not trying to get to her to breed. LOL He's simply a dog who sees another dog and wants to play.

I'm a little more concerned with the fact that you and your neighbor leave your yorkies outside without supervision. I would be terrified to do that. I would be afraid a hawk or and owl would grab her, or someone would steal her.

Wait until you have the time to go out with your dog to play,.
