discussing religious matters? It has been said that the Bay of Pigs fiasco and Pearl Harbor that boards who were tasked with assessing the risks failed due to group think, and this could have been avoided by someone playing the "devil's advocate",so that difficult opinions could be analysed and assessed rather than swept under the carpet. I was wondering if churches and other religious communities are open to such types of discussion or whether consensus is more important to preserve the cohesion of the group.
