Is "lesbian" what you are, or what you do?

I read people's replies claiming that if a woman has sex with another woman, that she's a lesbian, or at least bisexual.

Don't you think there are some straight people who experiment? I'm a woman and I've always preferred men. I first had sex when I was 20, and it was with a man. I've been with four other men since then (I'm 37), always in long-term relationships.

Yet a couple of years ago, I met the most amazing, most beautiful woman I could imagine, and we had a sexual encounter. I was sober, I was there completely voluntarily, and I enjoyed the entire experience very much.

But I'm not inclined to have sex with a woman again; unless it was the same woman. I don't consider myself bisexual, just a heterosexual woman who satisfied a curiosity.

And just for the record, I'm completely at peace with myself, and I have no regrets.

What do you think? Does one encounter with a woman change my sexual identity for life?
