I bought a Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 550W today and connected it to a 230V source when the switch was in 115V. The PSU was not active when I did that, but still a huge sound with visible sparks came out of the PSU.
I opened the case and couldn't see any problem in there. No burning marks, no black or any other colored weird stuff. Everything looks brand-new. But when I use a paper clip to short the PS_ON, the PSU just wouldn't work, even if I short a few other yellow wires. I don't have a motherboard here for test. Anyone has any idea if this PSU is fried or not?
