The Wise and Foolish Builders

46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47 As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. 48 They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Matthew 7:21
""Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."

I believe that it is through our recognizing Jesus is our Lord and repentance, acceptance of His free gift of salvation we receive salvation. It is not a one time event but one of life long devotion and continued obedience to Him.

So many people separate Jesus and the Father. One plus one=2, basic math not knowing
that God's ways and our ways aren't exactly the same. Not a person, like we are, either.
Jesus and the Father are One. So, yes, we are to obey or hear Jesus Christ, and
the Holy Spirit. We are to build where it is quite difficult to build on that cornerstone
which is Christ. To do that, we have to become, yes, intimate with Jesus.
Jesus said 'I in you, and you in Me'. That is close. When our whole being
and desire is to be that close, then we will listen and obey because Jesus
knows what is best for us. Because He cares for you.

Obedience to Christ is inextricably linked to exercising faith in him. (John 3:36 NLT)

The Bible also says that Jesus is responsible for the salvation of those obeying him. (Hebrews 5:9)

If someone really believes in Jesus -- if someone is a true disciple of Jesus -- they'll obey his teachings. (John 8:31)

Verily I say unto thee, the Jesus story is a myth.

I've seen that verse used against all kinds of Christians. The legalistic Christians really love to use it against other Christians, but it's actually against the legalists, those who don' know about the leaven of the Pharisees, they are the children of the Bond Woman Paul talks about in Galatians 4. Most of the church seems to be unaware of what the leaven of the Pharisees is.

You might want to find out if you don't know. It's not a good thing to be a hypocrite, even out of ignorance. You might find yourself saying "Lord, Lord."
