Is olivia palomo really that rude as she look like in 'The City'?

She always look so arrogant and snobbish. I just can't find out if Erin Kaplan is 'the *****' or if olivia is suppose to act like that. Sometimes I feel sorry for olivia. It sometimes look like Erin is SO mean to her. But I don't know if it goes both ways?
