Is putting Christ first, a sin against the first commandment?

I just hear Christ this and Christ that from a certain Christian believer and wondered if it might tick God (the father) off? I know that God the father, God the son, and God the holy spirit were in existence in the beginning according to my pastor, but seems some Christians are placing God the son over god the father. Some services I hear "Nothing" about God the father.
