...covenant between God and humanity?
I have heard that among Hassids; reincarnation is taught. I read where a rabbi was conducting interviews with people supposedly reincarnated form Holocaust victims. Discuss.

The Torah which is the most scared scriptures do not talk about an after life. Neither do the Prophets or Writings. Judaism doesn't really focus on that, because what matters is where you are now, and your actions where you are at the moment. If you a good person following God's laws, I'm sure your place in a possible after life is safe.

Well, they expect Elijah to come back (ELIJAH himself, not a substitute like John) before the Day of the Lord, so yes, at least in the case of him...

There is no "doctrine" whatsoever in Judaism about reincarnation. There is no mention of the afterlife in the Hebrew Bible. Any "beliefs" Jews hold about it have been borrowed from other religions, mostly Christianity.

Edit: You couldn't have picked a worse time to ask a question of Jews. Yom Kippur begins at sunset on Friday and continues through sunset on Saturday. You won't find many of us on the computer any time soon.

Yes, in certain sects: Belief in reincarnation is commonly held by many Chasidic sects, as well as some other mystically-inclined Jews.
