Is the apartment maintenance responsible for cleaning the dryer vent?

I don't really have any money at the moment because I bought a washer and dryer and it was delivered today. My dryer is taking over 2 hours to dry clothes... This is the first time I've ever had a washer/dryer hooked up in these apartments so are they responsible for keeping the vents usable for each tenant? I would try to do it myself, but I don't think they would appreciate me climbing on their roof.

If the vent does up to the roof, I would say yes. Vents are supposed to go horizontal or down.

Yeah, but don't tell them it's taking too long to dry the clothes. Tell them that you had the appliance technician come out because it was talking too long to dry and he said the vent was clogged.

They need to be motivated otherwise they will blame it on your dryer.

Are you sure your dryer is hooked up right to the vent?

BTW, it probably isn't in their roof.. but in the duct work going to the outside vent... there will be a kink that will be full of lint and it might not be of cleaning the duct but replacing it in the attic.
