is the condom rumor true?

I thought that as long as the condom didnt break that it was like 98% effective? but ppl on here have me worried! Anyone on here get pregnant while using a condom and it didnt break? Im not on the pills, but I am 19 and I recently moved back in with my parents and I cannot get on the pills at all, if i got to the Dr then they ahve to write a prescription and it goes on my parents insurance. But how likely am i to get preggo while using a condom?
