Since we read these verses.....

2 Thess 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Ro 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

Why do so many people say the the Gospel is an invitation, or an offer......don't these verses show that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a command?

Jesus died on a cross for sinners like us and rose again from the dead the third day to justify us; to reconcile us back to the Holy God that we hate. God is slow to anger and full of mercy and compassion....but the day of judgment is coming. Jesus commands all men everywhere to Repent and Believe!
@ TKA,
Do you suppose that the verse you quote somehow proves all of the ones that I quote wrong? Anyway, the verse you use is talking about the kingdom being taken from the Jews and given to the gentiles.....not the gospel.
