Is the LG Versa a smartphone?

I have Verizon and if you want to buy a smartphone you have to buy a data plan.I was thinking of buying a lg versa but i don't want to pay for a data plan so is this a smart phone?

I wouldn't count it as a smartphone no. Who did you talk to at Verizon? If it's a store, they are probably trying to upsell you. I always call Verizon and work with them. They tend to give me much better deals than a store would.

I called the store and they told me that it was and tried to sell me a newer smartphone with better apps on it.
