Is the Porsche 944 reliable enough to drive in the rain or small amounts of snow? I really need to know because, depending of the answer; it will mean the difference between getting a Porsche 944 or no car at all (for a while)
Is it a good idea for a new driver (but still a good diver) to get a 1987 Porsche 944? If i just bought really great snow tires, would I still have a problem with the snow? and doesn't the 50/50 weight distribution make it easier or does it not matter because of the rear wheel drive??

Thank you so much

whoa, hold off on that. it sounds like you don't know much about cars, and it also sounds like you don't really have much cash at the moment. you need to realize that any Porsche(even a 944) is going to give you reliability issues, especially one that's 23 years old. it's going to need a lot of maintenance, and parts are going to be expensive as hell for it compared to most other cars you can get for the same amount of money.

in the rain, it should be fine(assuming you have experience with rear wheel drive). the 944's didn't really have a lot of power, it was only about 170-200hp if I remember, so it's not going to be that hard to drive in the wet. however, just about any rear wheel drive car is going to give you issues in the snow. 50/50 weight distribution will benefit you on a racetrack or a tight mountain road, but it means absolutely nothing in the snow. even if you get snow tires, driving this thing in the winter is going to be a pain and you'll put yourself through a lot of unnecessary trouble. also take into account that this thing is 23 years old, do you really want to break down on the side of the road in the snow?

seriously, there's no point in buying this car. the 944's weren't even that fast, a new Civic has more power and quicker 0-60 and quarter mile times. there's plenty of other cars for sale out there. find an old Honda or Subaru, it's going to be cheaper to maintain/drive, more reliable, better in the snow, cheaper insurance, cheaper repairs, better on gas, better everything.
