I have been told that there was a book where Wonderland was a horrible nightmare of a place, filled with demons and such, many other "Alice"s were killed there because they went into deep into wonderland. But the place was kinda strange and funny to her and that is how she explained it to Lewis Carroll and then he wrote the books with the cheshire cat, the white rabbit and the queen.
