Is there a small handheld trimmer for cutting grass near objects?

I probably confused the hell out of anyone reading that question but is there such a thing? I suppose I could use scissors but I'm hoping there's a faster way to get that grass around things on the ground.
It's granite, it shouldn't get hurt.

I lived in Japan for many years.
They used scissors all the time. You would see them with a shallow basket between their feet as they squated to cut the grass. They had very strong legs.

What about a weed eater? You have to hold it and it's made to cut grass near objects. As long as the "object' isn't fragile (like glass) it won't hurt it.
