Is there a way to rip Blu-rays to a hard drive...?

and convert the movie to a different format, say .MP4? or are you only able to rip the whole disc and keep it all?

Yes, you can use DVD Cloner v5.1 to rip it, and than covert the files in to MP4 using Xilisoft Convert or ImTOO converter
