Is there any real meaning to "ages" and eras" scholars talk about when they discuss

humanities? I'm writing a essay and the teacher asked to answer this question but I'm not sure what it ask for. And he didn't give much detail to it. I'm going to talk about the High Renaissance. Can someone help?
