Is there any reason to switch from knology to Verizon fios?

My cable provider (Knology) offers 8mbps internet, plenty of HD channels (if you upgrade), DVR unit (if you upgrade). My current bundle includes phone, Cable tv, and broadband internet at 8mbps for $79/mo. I think they have this because Verizon has started installing in the area, and they want to be competitive. But, back to the question. Why should I switch? I know fiber optic is potentially better technology, but I don't see any difference in what they are actually offering at the moment.
