is there anything handheld that would shatter my window without having it fall apart?

Car tires were slashed and they apparently broke my back window out of my hatchback too. I heard glass crack, then chased them off, got in my car and shut the door and the whole damn thing feel out. whats the tool they can use to do this??? anyone no?? thank you SO much for the help
it was my back window.. something small was used.. the police wont do anything about it because i was the only witness to it..I heard the crack of the glass and witnessed her with her hand over the glass running away. Ive had other problems with the same people and i am going to talk to the cops supervisor tonight.. Dont know if ill get anywhere but ill try..

they make spring loaded punches for getting out of your car when you happen to jump your car into a lake, basically you put the put it up to the glass and push the button and it "fires" this hard metal spike breaking the window. id in vest in a vicious dog and put him in your car.

A break glass hammer (little hammer with a sharp point)

A spring loaded set punch. (Used for making a dent in metals prior to drilling to keep the drill bit in place)

A piece of ceramic like that from a spark plug on a piece of string, and swung against a window.

I would think that it would be the glass. When I was a kid and we went camping, we had a window in the back of the truck. You could tell something was wrong with the window, but didn't know for sure. When it was lifted, it all fell out as you described. Kids threw rocks at it while they were walking buy and it happened to put a small hole in it and when gravity took over, it all fell out.

It could have been anything. I hope you called the cops? I hope they get caught.

Now are you talking about the front window or are you reffering to that back window? Either way car manufactures used special glass that is very hard to shatter. It will crack all over the place before it shatters. They could have used anything really. Maybe a sledge hammer? Lol I really don't know. Good luck figuring it out though.

I think you don't know the definition of "shatter" which is break into a million little pieces which would be to "fall apart".
