and tell jokes ? Just wondering ! it seems most of the bible content is all very serious and morbid at times .
Is it a sin to tell jokes and have a sense of humour also ?

Thanks

No, it is not a sin to enjoy the company of good friends. To laugh together. In fact, it's a very important component of a meaningful relationship.

no but we know God has a sense of humor. After all he made hippos and giraffes...there is also a verse that shows GOD laughing...

In fact, it explicitly says that it's not okay: "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. " (Ephesians 5:3-4)

lol no there is not. but apparently religous people do have a sense of humor. just in a different way. the most comical religion is Catholic.....they do anything and just pray for their sins on sundays and wensdays.

it's not really a joke book. But it does tell people more or less to be joyful and happy, heck telling jokes makes me happy so why not?

I haven't seen a place where it says it's okay, but it doesn't say it's not okay, either. The Bible does have a little warning (shoot, I can't remember the verse) that basically says not to insult someone by masking your insults in jokes. But that's more of a note about being mean than having a sense of humor.

Definitely not. You don't think God jokes or laughs? I'm sure he does. :D

Oh no it's not a sin to be funny! The Bible is very serious in places, but it has it's lighthearted moments, too.
