Is this an interesting plot for a series of fantasy/sci-fi novels?
I've been working on (very slowly) a novel series (of which I've started on the first book so far) for about 2 years now. Is this an interesting plot line? Would it be something you'd buy? The setting is a planet of anthropomorphic animals and some mythical/folklore beings, created by a god who was eventually exiled by his own people. There are two main gods of the planet, one is the creator, although he has been inprisoned. The second is a 'half-god' of whom can only 'make do with what she has' which means she can use everything, but she cannot create anything new in itself. This half-god eventually inprisions the full god, draining him of his power so he can cause no more harm to his people. There is a small romantic sub-plot with the two, and we later find out that neither gods are truly 'good'. Both couldn't care less about the planet and are only really playing with it. The first book, which I'm writing, is about a secret plan lead by the planet's (corrupt, and somewhat insane) 'Superior'. (The equivalent to president/emperor/ruler of the planet) and his following, to free the original god with help from the half-god, who has lived in hiding for hundreds of years since inprisoning the full god. The full god is then free'd, and the book is generally about his rise to power and the beginning of a war between one god's followers and another. The following books, although I havent fully thought them out, involve the war, a third god who is born out of prophecy, his life/death/impact, and finally some sort of apocalyptic ending. The books may have many subplots and substories in them such as relationships and the impact of the wars on civilians, etc. The setting is some mix between fantasy and sci fi. Almost steampunk, but more glossy and clean looking that steampunk themed things which are generally rusty looking, if you understand. This book will have nothing at all to do with humans or earth in any way. There is also no specific protagonist either, and the book will be written in third person. The protagonists will probably be various plot-related characters throughout the series.
