? Chapter 37
William wrapped his arm around my waist and smiled. “I knew you would feel that way.” he chuckled to himself. “But I don’t know if Savan would be happy that I was right.” Gillian gave him a smirk. “Ya but if she’s my true friend she would want me to be happy.” He shrugged. “Ya I guess.”
They were both walked side by side as if no one just attacked William’s friends’ tribe. “Why are we acting like this William, aren’t you worried that your sister did all this?” As Gillian looked around, to once a beautiful place now in ruble. He sighed. “Well it doesn’t surprise me she would do something like this.” She nodded. They walked back in the hut and looked through some of some spar clothes they bought at the airport. Gillian smiled. “I guess I’ll let you change I’ll talk to Savan about the news. “no.” he said before Gillian walked out the door. “She doesn’t need to know now, we’ll tell her in the morning. Gillian nodded and left the hut.
Gillian looked around the tribe seeing the damage. Suddenly one of the Indians in the tribe slam at full speed crying that made Gillian fall on the ground. Gillian laid there gasping for breath. The women though looked perfectly fine. “I’m sorry” she said in an accent. I should watch were I’m going. She lends Gillian a hand. It didn’t seem trouble to lifted Gillian up. “So are you like one of the shifters or around here?” Gillian questioned. The women nodes.
“My name is Sisi, can you help me, I can’t find my son Matawan he ran off running when I turned, he’s not yet ready to understand what we are.” She said smiling. Gillian gave her a sad smile and shrugged. “Ya I’d love to help, do you know any helpful hiding tips he likes to go to?” Gillian asked. Sisi thought for a little bit then thought of something. “He likes to go in the corn field.” Gillian smiled. ‘’ ok, thanks.” She said and started heading off to the field. Gillian walked over to the fields yelling,”Matawan!” she cried. “Matawan!”
She stopped at the beginning of the corn field. She sighed “here we go; mata-“she stopped at the sound of corn rustling. A little boy ran out screaming something. “Help, help, help!” he finally said. Gillian grabbed his arm while he was still in reach. “What’s wrong?”Gillian asked. The boy looked around franticly scared. “We have to go.” He said in a hushed voice. Gillian tilted her head. “Why?” she asked in a whisper. The little boy started tugging on her arm. “We have to hide!” he kept saying. He stopped tugging and looked at her.
He shook his head as if she was crazy. What was this boy scared of? Thought Gillian “Matawan what’s wrong? Why are you so scared?” she asked. He looked up with horror eyes. “The northern people are still here, I smell them.” He said quickly. Gillian snapped her head up. Someone on Rebecca’s’ side is in there. She quickly looked at the eight year old boy. “Ok you have to listen to me do you know the women named Savan?” Gillian asked quickly. The boy thought for a moment. “Yes” he said. “The feisty blonde one?” Gillian chuckled how he remembered her. “Yes her, you need to run get her and tell her what’s happening and hide ok?” she said. The boy nodded and took off. Gillian got off from her knees and looked at the corn field. She quickly looked around and found a branch lying on the ground. She picked it up, put her foot on the branch and pushed till she heard a crack. She lifted the branch to see the results which made her smile a wooden stick with a pointy end.
Gillian went to a crouch weapon in hand and slowly walked in the corn field.
