I don't drink like some of my friends or smoke weed. I just really don't want to disappoint my Mom. She tells me I'm a good kid and she's proud of me and stuff now ever since this quarter of me being a university freshman. I've always felt I could never top my siblings and felt a bit jealous of them as one is a Harvard grad, the others are all honor students in college and blah blah blah. My Mom always used to praise them and stuff all the time, but def. not as much to me. It took me till freshman year in college to start getting nearly all A's and I got a large scholarship too.
Because of my large scholarship, federal aid, my Mom is basically paying the rest of my college, plus gives me a bit of spending money so I can go out with friends on weekends. After college I don't even have to worry about paying off large sums and stuff because she has me covered. I know some of my friends parents are making them pay and well I feel like for my Mom being so awesome (even if she has a tendency to nag at times lol) that I owe her my promise to never smoke at all or drink underage. I'd just feel to guilty about it and know it would make me sad.
I still have tons of fun with my friends. We go out and about in a car or stay in our dorm to hang out there. We just don't party, but I have some friends who invited me and I guess I should go sometime anyways, but I just don't wanna drink and stuff so I'm hoping that isn't the main activity of the party. I'm for small get togethers with friends anyways.
