Tiger Woods made a change on his golf bag prior to the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and if photos of his putter on Wednesday are any indication, he could be on the verge of making a putter change as well.
Photos were taken of him using his usual Nike Method putter during a practice round on Tuesday, but when Woods showed up on Wednesday, his old Scotty Cameron, the one he used to win 13 of his 14 majors, was back in the bag.
The photos led to a flurry of tweets and comments about the possibility of Woods dropping his Nike flatstick and going back to his reliable Cameron. Considering he hasn't won a major since the switch, it wouldn't be a huge shock. The Method has been in the bag for roughly a year, producing a mixed bag of results along the way.
After wavering on the Method at last year's British Open, Woods decided to give the putter a shot on a full-time basis, and hasn't looked back since. But with little success coming from the Nike model, it would appear he's now weighing his options once again.
Tinkering with a putter prior to a major isn't advisable, but with a little more than a week to go before the PGA Championship, now would seem to be as good a time as ever to make a decision.
