I THINK NOT, CAUSE OF THE RULES,
ITS NOT REALLY NO HOLDS BARRED, NOT LIKE THE

Fouls:
1. Butting with the head.
2. Eye gouging of any kind.
3. Biting.
4. Hair pulling.
5. Fish hooking.
6. Groin attacks of any kind.
7. Putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent.
8. Small joint manipulation.
9. Striking to the spine or the back of the head.
10. Striking downward using the point of the elbow.
11. Throat strikes of any kind, including, without limitation, grabbing the trachea.
12. Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh.
13. Grabbing the clavicle.
14. Kicking the head of a grounded opponent.
15. Kneeing the head of a grounded opponent.
16. Stomping a grounded opponent.
17. Kicking to the kidney with the heel.
18. Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck.
19. Throwing an opponent out of the ring or fenced area.
20. Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent.
21. Spitting at an oppone

the rules are there for the safety of the fighters. in the US they heavily regulate combative sports if you want to have it sanctioned by any type of organization. heck even with the rules they have no not all states in the US allow it. john mccain called it human cockfighting.

not to mentioned not too many people would sign up for real life mortal kombat. i train in muay thai which some consider a brutal sport but there is still rules i dont think i would compete if people were allow to take off their gloves and gouge me in the eyes, kick my head like a soccer ball when im on the ground, or slamming me neck /face first into the ground.

all for how much money? the lower paid no body's get $3000 per fight even the bigger names top out at around $500,000(and im saying "only" because of the type of money boxers can make per fight[millions])

Vale Tudo is the ultimate combat sport. MMA is a close second.

Anyone from the UFC would whup your butt, regardless.

So, in the end, what's your point?

The truth of the matter is that a real street fight can never be duplicated. There are far too many liabilities and no one would want to insure it.

Street fights don't have rules, ref, boundaries or bells.

not really it cant be considered ultimate sport cause there are rules. you cant compare it to say a regular street fight where there are no rules just your imagination. i could pull out 3 guys in my hood that could take chuck , rampage or GSP but the fact is ,its all about entertainment and money. you cant make money with broken warriors...... so as for combat sport no it isnt but hella lotta fun to watch...

Hair Pulling? This is MMA, not a high school girl's fight. Vale Tudo is NHB. This is a fight, they need some rules or everyone would just kill each other.

it is the ultimate combat sport, but with any televised sport, there has to be rules and regulations in place for those fights to be sanctioned by the athletic commissions in the individual states. look at other sports like football, basketball, baseball, etc., if there was no rules in place, there would be total anarchy and bedlam in those sports. so there needs to be rules and regulations in place in sports whether it is combat or contact.

I would say that UFC is the ultimate sport fighting sport, but not the ultimate combat sport. I think for it to be the ultimate combat sport you would have to have no rules. I think you should have some two on one situations, or one guy has a knife or a club. I like watching the UFC, and the fighters are tremendous athletes, and very tough, and I am not trying to take anything away from them, but it still has rules.
I do not think you will have an ultimate combat sport until you have people that are willing to step in a ring with no rules, and I do not know anybody that would be stupid enough to sign up for something like that for money or a title. Except for maybe Tank Abbott.
