If you know anything about the history of religion I shouldn't have to explain why the above statement makes since, but I will just encase you're not familiar with the Torah or the Christian Holy Book.
The Christian bible is made up of 66 books, they were cherry picked by the Roman emperor of Constantine, and the first 5 books of the the series is composed of the Torah, or the Jewish books of law. They are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. All books that come after these in the series are based on the events and characters that were created by the Hebrew authors. The Christians have differing opinions on certain events in the series (mainly whether Jesus is a man or a god) which is why a new domination was formed. They follow the same rules, read the same books (not the later ones, but their all based on the Hebrew ones anyways), and believe in the same God. How is this not the same religion?
