i have the herbst appliance thats suppose to correct my deep overbite. ive had it for 2 months already. i believe my lower jaw is moved forward all the way because i can tell my upper jaw has moved back by smiling and my back teeth can touch. my jaw hasnt been to the point where its permanet...like if the appliance was to be taken off right now, then my jaws would move back to where they were before.
but what the hell is going on? it still looks like i have an overbite. i can feel my lower jaw try to go back to where it was, but the appliance is stopping it. and when i had an overbite, i rested my mouth a certain way and i still rest my mouth like i have an overbite...not having an overbite should make you rest your mouth a different way.
im suppose to have this appliance on for 8-12 months. wtf!!! im suppose to go to the orthordontist in 2 weeks and i want to know why this is happening right now...i dont want to wait another 2 weeks to find out because ive had this ugly overbite for years and years and im sick of it!! it makes me look ugly and looks like my face is droppy when i dont smile.
and when i had my overbite, it was so uncomfortable...and it still feels like i have a stupid overbite because it feels the same way even though my lower jaw has been moved forward.
