Jay Leno, responsible for the preservation of many classic and archaic motorized conveyances from all over the world, was recently in an issue of Popular Mechanics. In it, he speaks of his ACE motorcycle. While describing the pristine machine, he expresses sorrow over the demise of the American motorcycle industry, and with it, the reputation of American motorcycles...longing for the era when American 4-cylinder machines were the symbol of superior 2-wheeled machinery worldwide, and the words "American" and "V-twin" were not yet synonymous.
My question (sorry for the long intro) :
if Leno is so passionate about the loss of this type of machine, why doesn't he have them built again? He has enough money to start several motorcycle factories. I think most people who had millions of dollars laying around, would not hesitate to have something built that they really like, if they couldn't go to the store to "buy it". If he really likes the production of American 4-cylinder bikes, can't he just "buy" that production?
