Ok so I recently bought an automatic 97' jeep wrangler SE 2.5l and its been running fine until a few wires started touching when i took it offroading. The wires burnt up and i replaced them and the jeep started to run fine again, now when i drive the jeep it sometimes the engine just cuts out on me. I can drive it for about 30mins but then it stalls on me, then to get it started back up i have to open the hood, disconect the battery, reconect it and then it will start up (maybe). If it does start up it only stays on for about 20 seconds before stalling again. When it wont start up it just turns over and keeps turning. Does anyone have any clue what it may be? I was thinking maybe when the wires touched it may have screwed up the computer but im not positive, thanks in advanced for the answers.

Since this started with your wiring. I would suggest you go back and make sure your wiring is correct. Sounds to me like there is a circuit breaker is tripping and resetting. Good luck with this.

since its stalling it could be the timing be the timing belt. something similar happened on my friends ford ranger. good luck
