These would be the primary reasons for me leaving Christianity =] (and thank G-d because I feel so much more free, like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders). 1)The Sanhedrin will be re-established (Isaiah 1:26) -Considering the Sanhedrin was still around in Jesus' time I don't know how it could be re-established. 2)Once he is King, leaders of other nations will look to him for guidance. (Isaiah 2:4) -Nope, never was a king and only ignorant people looked to him for guidance. 3)The whole world will worship the One G-d of Israel (Isaiah 2:17) -Still not happening. There is still Hinduism, Wicca, Zoroastrianism, Animism, Atheism, etc. 4)He will be descended from King David (Isaiah 11:1) via King Solomon (1 Chron. 22:8-10) -According to Judaism you can only get your lineage from your biological father's side, so if Joseph wasn't his biological father according to Christians, then well, you get my point..... 5)The Moshiach will be a man of this world, an observant Jew with "fear of G-d" (Isaiah 11:2) -Jesus claimed to be G-d, and he broke the Sabbath Law, so I wouldn't consider him very observant. 6)Evil and tyranny will not be able to stand before his leadership (Isaiah 11:4) -Nope, the Romans handled the situation without much trouble. 7)Knowledge of G-d will fill the world (Isaiah 11:9) -Still not everyone has heard of the G-d of Avraham, or they haven't read the entire Bible *cough MOST Christians cough*. 8)He will include and attract people from all cultures and nations (Isaiah 11:10) -Many people didn't and still don't like Jesus. 9)All Israelites will be returned to their homeland (Isaiah 11:12) -Considering the Israelites were all in Israel (Judea) in Jesus' day, I don't know how they could return if they were already there. 10)Death will be swallowed up forever (Isaiah 25:8) -Last time I checked, people still die everyday. 11)There will be no more hunger or illness, and death will cease (Isaiah 25:8) -Once again, people still die. And look no further than Africa for the hunger or illness issue. 12)All of the dead will rise again (Isaiah 26:19) -Nah, dead people are still dead. 13)The Jewish people will experience eternal joy and gladness (Isaiah 51:11) -Ask Hitler or the Romans if they experienced joy and gladness. 14)He will be a messenger of peace (Isaiah 52:7) -Nope, Jesus said in order to be his follow, you must hate your father, mother, brothers, sisters, wife, kids, even your own life. (Luke 14:26) 15)Nations will end up recognizing the wrongs they did to Israel (Isaiah 52:13-53:5) -Rome never cared, and Muslim countries still don't like Israel. 16)The peoples of the world will turn to the Jews for spiritual guidance (Zechariah 8:23) -Nah, Christians still think the Jews don't understand their OWN prophecies and religion. Christians think they know everything there is to know. 17)The ruined cities of Israel will be restored (Ezekiel 16:55) -Once again, if they were still there in the time of Jesus, how could they have be restored. 18)Weapons of war will be destroyed (Ezekiel 39:9) -Hiroshima and Nagasaki anyone? 19)The Temple will be rebuilt (Ezekiel 40) resuming many of the suspended mitzvots. -If the Temple was already there in Jesus' time, how could it have been rebuilt. Heck, it was still there 35-odd years AFTER his death. 20)He will then perfect the entire world to serve G-d together (Zephaniah 3:9) -Atheists and many people still don't serve the G-d of Avraham. 21)Jews will know the Torah without study (Jeremiah 31:33) -Considering they still study, I don't see where Jesus did a good job in this department. 22)He will give you all the desires of your heart (Psalms 37:4) -I still don't have my Lamborghini. 23)He will take the barren land and make it abundant and fruitful (Isaiah 51:3, Amos 9:13-15, Ezekiel 36:29-30, Isaiah 11:6-9). -Most of Israel is still desert. *****Note: This must all be accomplished in a MORTAL lifetime. Even the Tanakh (Old Testament) says no one gets a 'second coming'.***** And watch the Christians still tell me that I'm wrong..... Ah, like they say, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." I think they're scared and don't want to see another POV. I think deep down, they know they're wrong, but the continue to follow Christianity because it's the 'popular' thing to do.
