Just got into anime, been watching Samurai Champloo. any suggestions for other anime?

i like the old samurai style but also the humor and the fact that it's made for adults
would really appreciate some suggestions on other anime to watch

Cowboy Bebop is by the same legendary director of Samurai Champloo, and it's like, arguably one of the best anime of all time.

Evangelion is similarly legendary and adultish.

I just watched Baccano!, which has a great dark tone, and it's kind of genius. It's gorey and confusing (you gotta get past the first episode or two), but it's awesome.

Death Note is also legendary and genius. It's not really an action, but it's a great thriller none-the-less.

Don't listen to the Naruto and Bleach people. You might be into that, but they're more for teenagers who are ok with watching hours and hours of filler than for adults.

well most people think narutos for kids but there are some good episodes for that but if you like shows where there is just a bunch of fighting you probably should try something else
 
Rurouni Kenshin is a good anime to watch it is like a samurai type of anime.
and if you just want to try a demon/spirit like show that is awesome try yu yu hakusho.
 
I just started watching Bakemonogatari. It's amazing but I don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for. Link to episodes below. :)
 
Naruto and naruto shippuden. Especially shippuden because it has a better plot line and better action but I would suggest watching naruto just to get a basis for shippuden. Seriously they are my favorite anime and you can't go wrong with either.
